I have never liked advertising on my person or my car. It has been my philosophy that if I want you to know something about me, I’ll tell you. I’m not letting people or companies have free advertising space on my body or my car. There are actually companies that will pay you to use your car, or for you to wear their T-shirts to advertise for them.
However, my thought process of late has changed slightly as graphic tees with inspirational sayings have become popular.
Take for example my daughter’s Wonder Woman shirt. I’m not really thrilled about her being a walking advertisement but, I love what it says- “Strength and Power”. I want my not so little girl to feel like she has the strength to do what she wants to in life and to feel empowered. And I know that she feels that way when she wears it. These are things that the Wonder Woman brand stands for.
Another of my daughter’s shirts says “Watch Me Dance”. Life can be hard a lot of the time and she is no stranger to this. I want her to learn to dance through life with a smile on her face, a can-do attitude, and grace. If a t-shirt can help her remember that, so much the better.
The first graphic tee I bought for myself says “Take Chances”. I bought it to remind myself when I wear it to step out of my comfort zone. Take that chance and who knows what will come after. It helped remind me last year that I was working towards the trip of my dreams, a trip to Ireland and Scotland which I never thought would actually happen.
The shirt reminded me to keep having hope and keep moving forward. It rewarded me by keeping my determination on point, and I took the chance and went on my dream trip. For the rest of my life, I have unforgettable memories that I can pull out and cherish. If an ordinary shirt can help me accomplish that, it’s worth every penny I paid for it.
I will probably never be comfortable using my body as an ad advertisement, but graphic tees with inspirational sayings are here to stay in my wardrobe.

This is such a true phenomenon. when I wear a shirt that SAYS something. I think about it basically all day long. I definitely need a Wonder Woman t-shirt!
My daughter has 3 Wonder Woman shirts.
This seems like an easy way to get what you want . Far better than ‘ the Secret’ . I’m going to get myself one that reads ‘ I look like a million bucks’ . Will help me on days when I don’t diet 😉
