“Reading widely taught me several things. To name just a few, it taught me the value of learning about other people’s perspectives. This has changed my mind and helped me to better understand situations on more occasions than I can count.
It taught me how to curate my own reading. There are only so many hours in a day. Which books am I going to read? Was I going to waste my time on books that weren’t worth my time? Both of those were extremely valuable lessons.”

Today I’m sharing with you two outstanding books that are being released within the next week. They are currently available for pre-order via Amazon and any other major bookseller. This week’s books have very strong topics that could be triggering for some readers. I’ll discuss in depth here what these books are about and why they are important to read.
This has led me to recognize the fallibility of this idea. Men are responsible for their own actions and choices. Just as women are. They don’t get a pass just because they are hard-wired for wanting sex. Men determine their course for themselves.
If you haven’t read my other posts about books (such as this one and this one) and figured out that I love books. . . Don’t worry. There are more scheduled. There is just something about diving into a nice thick book and living amongst its pages for hours. Girls need to be taught to look for problems in their world and then be empowered to make changes and build things that can institute those changes. Girls are traditionally more drawn to making changes for the better in our world. Giving them the tools to do that makes STEM subjects much more appealing to them. Read more…
While I’ve always loved reading about the Revolutionary War, what I feel this book did a really good job of doing, was presenting the mental struggles that these people had to be going through and the consequences of the choices they made. Read more…
