Are You Patiently Waiting For Your Dreams?

For a long time, I’ve had a lot of dreams that I desperately wanted. They were things that would benefit me, and my family. One of those from when I was a little girl, was visiting Ireland and Scotland one day. About two years ago the dream of that five year old little girl came true. The trip was the stuff of dreams for me. It was magical with rainbows appearing out of the sky on our very first day in both countries. Memories I will forever hold dear. Yet another dream was to be able to go back to school. As I recently posted, I was able to this year and finished up my Associates degree. It was 15 years in the making, but I made it. I’m looking forward to starting back in a semester or two once I have my family settled. Another dream of mine has been to own my own home. This has been the dream of 20 years. A dream, long before I met my husband and had children. There was always a reason we didn’t buy a house before. We couldn’t afford it, we didn’t intend to stay where we were living. One thing after another crept up and years have gone by without us seizing this dream. The happily ever after of each. These dreams and had a journey to them, through them. They didn’t come without first dreaming, working, trying, falling, and trying again.  As I have been reflecting on this, the words from Felix Mendelssohn’s masterpiece, “O Rest In The Lord” have been playing through my mind.
O rest in the Lord. Wait patiently for Him. And He shall give thee thy heart’s desires. O rest in the Lord.  Wait patiently for Him. And He shall give thee thy heart’s desire. And He shall give thee thy heart’s desire. Commit thy way unto Him. And trust in Him. Commit thy way unto Him. And trust in Him.  And fret not theyself, because of evil doers. O rest in the Lord. Wait patiently for Him. Wait patiently for Him.
What are your dreams? What have you been praying for? For years? For decades? I want to tell you, to shout, to make you hear! Hold on to those dreams! Let me pray with you! Dreams are important. They give us hope, move us forward, and show us just how very much God does love us. He doesn't give us this ability to dream just to ignore them and dash our hopes. Read more . . . Click To Tweet
