Separation of Children at the Border and Sex Trafficking

Recently I wrote an article about sex trafficking and the U.S. Borders. In the conversations, we are having about the separation of children from their parents at the border right now across the country, we need to include in our discussions the fact that there are legitimate reasons why a child would be separated from parents or the adult they are traveling with and unfortunately it is because of sex trafficking and using children as drug mules to bring drugs in. I’m not advocating that we do not try to reunite parents and children or that they should be separated at all times. But rather, that the issue is more complicated than just- return the children to their parents.

To find out more about my reasoning check out my article on Medium. Share it with others so that we can have a productive conversation and figure out a way to save children both from the trauma of being separated from their families and from horrific exploitation. Separation of Children at the Border and Sex Trafficking
